My Place in Finland: Citizen Participation Walk

  • Palosaaren kirjasto (we'll gather in front) 19 Pikitehtaankatu Vaasa, Pohjanmaa, 65200 Finland (map)

Civil society consists of people who are voluntarily acting for a common cause. People take part in civil society activities because they want to make a difference, participate, learn and help.

During our Citizen Participation Walk we’ll be exploring different ways and forms of civic participation and citizen action from past to present.

We’ll meet in front of the Palosaari library, and continue by foot through the Vaasa city center, visiting places and corners that have a story to tell about active people and people’s movement.

We’ll end our walk with a shared coffee & tea moment in our cozy office.

Kindly note that we strongly encourage you to participate also in the Active People meeting.

My Place in Finland is a learning journey designed for adult migrants who wish to understand the society and its people better. The two-part Meeting place is one of the five places we are exploring during this journey.
