My Place in Finland learning journey starts
My Place in Finland is a learning journey designed for adult migrants who wish to understand the society and its people better. The programme consists of five modules, each based on a different thematic place. The places are the HomePlace, ForestPlace, StoryPlace, MeetingPlace and ThinkingPlace.
During the programme we will be discussing, but also exploring and visiting these places together. Expect some joyful and relaxing moments in nature, creativity, non-formal learning, reflection and dialogue among information and knowledge sharing. You can be active or just focus on listening and observing. Come us you are!
Our journey starts with the HomePlace module discussing and discovering places that feel like home in the new environment. During our outdoor sessions we’ll be searching for places that can strenghten our well-being and sense of belonging, and at the same time dive into cultural and social aspects of our physical environment.

SESSION 1
When: 20.6.2024 at 17:00-19:00
Location: Hietalahti Park, Vaasa
We are going to meet: in front of Villa Sandviken
What do I need to bring: Comfortable clothes to walk and spend time outside, water, maybe some mosquito repellent as well
What are we offering: coffee, tea, biscuits

**After the meeting you have an opportunity to continue making wildflower crowns for mid-summer. Same spot, starting at 7 pm.

When: 27.6.2024 at 17:00-19:00
Location: Hellaksen maja, Gerby outdoor trail
We are going to meet: in front of Gerby fittness stairs
What do I need to bring: Comfortable clothes to walk and spend time outside, water, maybe some mosquito repellent as well. If you wish to roast something on fire, feel free to take some snacks along as well.
What are we offering: coffee, tea, biscuits & matches and wood to set up the fire

When: 4.7.2024 at 17:00-19:00
Location: Pilvilampi outdoor area, Vaasa
We are going to meet: by Pilvilampi parking
What do I need to bring: Comfortable clothes to walk and spend time outside, water, maybe some mosquito repellent as well. If you wish to roast something on fire, feel free to take some snacks along as well.
What are we offering: coffee, tea, biscuits & matches to set up the fire
